Most pigments are custom tinted, and it is very useful for homeowners to have it on hand for touch ups.

I had no idea what a paint project cost entailed. Michael is right, I just thought paint gets slapped on the wall and that's what I was paying for. Never did I imagine that a wall would need prep work. Seems obvious to some, but not me. I began painting the inside of my home myself and was exhausted at the amount of work. Comparing the professional job they did with the amount of time and hassle it would have taken me, it was more than worth hiring Elysium!

Thank you for putting in here how important prep work is. For someone like me who doesn't use paint and every time I do it gets every where and never comes off anything. I wish I would have hired you first. Instead I hired some 'Schmoe' that came in and didn't even bother to wash the walls in the kitchen. I'm no scientist but I'm pretty sure that acrylic paint doesn't stick to oil (residue from cooking). So the paint starting peeling near the stove a few months later and I can't get a return call! Brian with Elysium has already come and fixed the issue. Still no return call from 'Schmoe.' So thanks for showing me what I needed to know before painting and being true PROFESSIONALS!

Hi Joe,

The cost would be determined by the size, wall conditions and type of paint you want, but if these are averaged-sized bedrooms in relatively good condition, you can plan to spend about $850-1000.

If there are any "Extras" like removing wallpaper, installing crown molding, or painting closets and doors, the bid would go up a little. It would be best for us to quote the job in person, but if you'd like more accurate numbers, it would be useful to know the following:

•Walls, trim & ceiling? If walls only, lower range. If all 3, higher range.

•Similar color or big color change? Bigger color change requires more coats & higher range.

•Quality of paint. Lower quality = lower cost, highest quality or hypoallergenic = highest cost.

•Prep required. Walls in perfect condition = lower range. Lots of prep, wallpaper removal, patching, caulking etc. needed = higher range.

•For wallpaper removal, project an additional $100-250 per room, based on the size and condition of the walls underneath.

Hope this is helpful!

I agree that cost is tied to quality and appreciate you guys taking the time to break down these good elements. I live in Saline and last time I had some painting work done I paid by credit card so we could get two coats instead of one, and that's really paid off because we can wash the walls much easier now than in some of the other rooms that were painted last time with only one coat.

I think I'll use you guys next time; you seem to really know what you're talking about!
